Back at the beginning of 2018, we recommended Todd Green’s Avalanche as one to check out on the indie film scene, so we’re pleased to share news that Indie Rights has acquired the dark comedy-drama that stars Stelio Savante, Autumn Withers, and Gideon Emery for distribution this year.
Avalanche tells the story of a librarian (Savante), his wife (Withers) and her lover (Emery) who, after becoming trapped in a house together, must navigate the chaotic fallout of their indiscretions.
It was funded in part by a grant from The City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance and won Best Comedic Drama Feature at Manhattan Film Festival 2018 and Best Actress in a Feature Film (Autumn Withers) at North Hollywood Cinefest 2018.
Written and directed by Green, and produced by stars Savante, Withers and Emery, the film features cinematography by Sharad Kant Patel, it was filmed in Houston, Texas and is being brought to the screen by Willoughby Movie Company, in association with Lucky Otter Productions.
