Flow Festival Helsinki unveils Bon Iver as first headliner for 2020!

After a successful 2019, the team at Flow Festival, taking place in Helsinki between 14th-16th August, have just announced that the first act for their 2020 adventure is the incredible Bon Iver!

This isn’t just the progressive, inventive musician’s usual tour either, Justin Vernon is one of the Flow audience’s most requested artists, who last performed in Helsinki at 2012’s Festival. Bon Iver was born when founder and frontman Vernon ran away from heartache and retreated to a cabin in Wisconsin to write songs. Debut album For Emma, Forever Ago came out in 2007, first self-released and later officially re-released in 2008 by Jagjaguwar. It was immediately clear that Vernon was set to be one of our generation’s most talented songwriters with that debut album rightly considered one of the 21st century’s finest.

Following up with 2012’s eponymous second album, then 2016’s 22, A Million and then this year the wonderful i,i came to be. Vernon and the musicians he collaborates with always put on an astounding gig, I guarantee it. He’s a tremendous live experience!

Flow Festival are set to host almost 150 performers across the festival weekend. Their program is a comprehensive look at a wide spectrum of culture, from pop music to experimental art.
