Watch the UK trailer for psychological horror Relic, the directorial debut from Natalie Erika James

While Relic will be on released in the UK on 30th October, it’s also making its UK debut at the BFI London Film Festival earlier that month. Already making waves among other film festivals, and compared to the likes of The Babadook and Hereditary – both remarkable films – this psychological horror is the debut feature film from Writer/Director Natalie Erika James.

Promising to bring a ‘fresh and profoundly human twist to the genre’, if this trailer is anything to go by, then we’re in for one hell of an intense journey. Starring Robyn Nevin, Emily Mortimer and Bella Heathcote, here’s your official synopsis:

When elderly mother Edna (Nevin) vanishes, her daughter Kay (Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Heathcote) rush to their family’s decaying country home, finding clues of her increasing dementia scattered around the house in her absence. After Edna returns just as mysteriously as she disappeared, Kay’s concern that her mother seems unwilling or unable to say where she’s been clashes with Sam’s enthusiasm to have her grandma back….

Watch the UK trailer now, we’re intrigued!

Relic opens in UK and Irish viewers this Halloween.
