Hot off the press, and with some encouraging words from ourselves on the new poster, Bent Hamer’s The Middle Man comes to UK cinemas on 10th March from Sovereign, and today we can share that and a new trailer – with our review later this month!
Wonderfully shot, and a very dry and absurdist Scandi-style drama, the Norwegian writer/director takes us into small-town America, where one man takes on the job of breaking bad news to the citizens, and this town sees a lot of accidents in amongst the economic woes.
Leading the way with a great performance is Pål Sverre Hagen as the titular character with the thankless job, the supporting cast includes an excellent Tuva Novotny, plus Aksel Hennie (The Trip), Nicolas Bro (Riders of Justice), Rossif Sutherland (Possessor), and Don McKellar (eXistenZ), with a terrific role for Due South’s Paul Gross, here playing the town sheriff.
