I think I’d completely forgotten this was under way, but today we have the first trailer for Napoleon with Director Ridley Scott, from writer David Scarpa, seemingly creating another epic with huge scope and historical stories to come, this November, no less!

Joaquin Phoenix plays the iconic French Emperor, with the film set to follow the rise and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte and endeavouring to capture his journey to power through the prism of his troubled, yet fiery, relationship with his true love: Josephine (played here by the excellent Vanessa Kirby).
From this brief clips, it looks like the film will showcase both his military and political tactics… and they promise practical battle sequences, which just sounds even better. Watch the trailer now, on a big screen if you can:
