The talented Stelio Savante, who we thought was terrific in Todd L. Green‘s Avalanche (full review here), has joined the legendary ensemble of Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1),Rob Schneider (Real Rob), Dolph Lundgren (Creed II), Danny Trejo (Machete, Spy Kids), Jerry O’Connell (Billions), Malcolm McDowell (Truth Seekers) Keith David (The Princess and the Frog), Nicholas Turturro (BlacKkKlansman) and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) in the cast of the family comedy Pups Alone: A Christmas Peril.

Savante will portray one of two incompetent thieves hired by Dolph Lundgren’s ‘Victor’, and will next be seen in the comedy Lapham Rising starring directly opposite Frank Langella and Bobby Cannavale, and in the surrealist sci-fi Destination Marfa, opposite Tony Todd. 

Directed by Alex Merkin (Altitude) from an original concept and screenplay by Brandon Burrows and Jason Gruich, the film also made headlines at last week’s European Film Market in Berlin. Burrows had this to say about Savante’s involvement:

“Stelio is a dynamic actor and is equal parts hilarious and loveable as the bumbling burglar Lenny. Audiences are going to love the character he’s created.”

Burrows (The Last Son) of Firebrand and Courtney Lauren Penn (The Last Son) of Renegade Entertainment produce, with Andre Relis of VMI and Jack Bowyer (Gallowwalkers) serving as executive producers. Savante is represented by SMS Talent Agency, Opus Entertainment, and VOX. 

Pups Alone: A Christmas Peril currently has a 2021 release date, something fun to look forward to at the end of the year!
