I’ve seen some really good stuff coming out of Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves, and we’re loving this in the UK as well! Via eOne, special previews will take place in cinemas across the country on Saturday 25th March. Distributor eOne and participating cinemas will donate all income received from ticket sales to support the work of MediCinema.
On the same day, patients in hospital will also be treated to a special preview at the in-hospital cinemas run by MediCinema: at the Serennu Children’s Centre in Newport, the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, Guy’s and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals in London.
Starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head and Hugh Grant, the movie is an epic fantasy based on Hasbro’s iconic table-top game Dungeons and Dragons.
MediCinema is a charity which improves the wellbeing and quality of life of NHS patients and their families through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. It builds and runs cinemas inside hospitals, designed to accommodate space for beds, wheelchairs, and medical equipment. Its services help to improve emotional, mental, and physical health, reducing feelings of isolation, anxiety, and stress, and increasing patient resilience. Last year more than 10,000 patients and their families in hospital watched a film in a MediCinema.
Exhibitors taking part include: Vue, Cineworld, Showcase + Cine DeLux, Odeon, The Light, Empire, Everyman, WTW + Scott Cinemas, Savoy Cinemas, Film Centre Wells and Abbeygate Bury St Edmunds.

And, as well as this, Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves are also hosting special previews of the film in Picturehouse Cinemas and The Light across the country on Wednesday 29th March. The previews will be in the subtitled format allowing d/Deaf audiences access to the film earlier than would normally be possible. Picturehouse Cinemas and The Light will continue to offer captioned performances across the film’s opening weekend and throughout its run in cinemas.
Front of house staff across both cinema chains will be given the opportunity to participate in basic BSL training before the film is released, enabling them to give d/Deaf cinemagoers a warm welcome to the screenings. Lessons have been organized by with a qualified BSL teacher through British Charity Chloe & Sophie’s Special Ears Fund [CSSEF]!
