After being a massive fan of Godzilla Minus One, read about that here, and massively enjoying witnessing it’s steady climb to huge, global success, I had to share all the details for the follow-up, Godzilla Minus Zero, as it’s coming to IMAX on 3rd November, and UK cinemas on 6th November!
I’ve enjoyed the King of the Monsters movies for some time now, both the original Toho releases, and the Hollywood ones, the latter I enjoy depending on their approach. I’ve never hidden my love for Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla and it’s character-based approach, as well the fun pair that followed it, even if they lacked nuance, they certainly didn’t lose the element of entertainment in their scale and size.

Godzilla Minus Zero, from Anime Limited and Toho Global, is the eagerly anticipated sequel to director/screenwriter Takashi Yamazaki’s previous, Godzilla Minus One. That film won Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, becoming the first Asian film to take home the award, and now we take a giant step towards his new one, which is the first-ever Japanese and Toho produced Godzilla film to be Filmed For IMAX, with Yamazaki returning as director, screenwriter, and VFX supervisor. You ready? Here we go!
“War reduced Japan to zero, and Godzilla plunged it into minus. Two years have passed since then, and the country has faced agonizing struggles to achieve recovery and finally reclaim its daily life. Just as humanity managed to cling to a hard-won peace, a new threat strikes, crushing hope in an instant. There is no third time. Everything ends here.”
