It’s the first ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ trailer from Netflix

Netflix are starting nice and early in 2017, from Friday 13th January to be precise, for their new A Series of Unfortunate Events series that’s based on the books by Lemony Snicket, aka Daniel Handler.

Although we enjoyed the quirky charm of Jim Carrey‘s Count Olaf in that outing, it’s clear these works will be more comfortably suited to a series with Neil Patrick Harris now taking up the titular role of Olaf. To briefly summarise for those new to the game…

A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.

Now, your trailer for the series that also stars Patrick Warburton (as Lemony Snicket), Malina Weissman (Violet Baudelaire), Louis Hynes (Klaus Baudelaire) and Joan Cusack (Justice Strauss) is here…

The 8-episode series is another one of those Netflix original productions, executive produced by Barry Sonnenfeld and Handler, and premieres in complete fashion on January 13, 2017. We think it’s gonna be legen…wait for it…dary!
