So this first trailer for Andrés Muschietti and Stephen King‘s IT might not be one you want to watch before going to sleep but that won’t stop me from encouraging to you anyway….
For those who don’t know, and you should read the novel as well, the film is based upon King’s hugely successful story which all relates back to an evil clown named Pennywise. In the town of Derry, children begin to disappear and then a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they face him, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Directed by Mama‘s Muschietti, it stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise, alongside an ensemble of great young actors that includes Midnight Special’s Jaeden Lieberher, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Nicholas Hamilton. This first look is somewhat horrific but also deeply captivating – Take a watch for yourself and then let us know what you think and, by the way, King likes it:
Andy Muschietti’s remake of IT (actually it’s Part 1–The Losers’ Club) succeeds beyond my expectations. Relax. Wait. And enjoy.
