Amazon Channels launches in the UK with individual channel subscriptions

Amazon Channels are now live in the UK (and Germany!) after a successful run in the US, and the best thing about them is that they allow Prime members to add channel subscriptions for a low monthly subscription fee, available individually without the need to sign up for a bundle or lengthy contract.

Good channels for film lovers include BFI Player+, Arrow Video, MUBI, Heera (Amazon’s own Bollywood channel), MGM and Shudder to name a selection. This is the first time that some of these channels, including Discovery, have been made available independently of any ‘bundle’, enabling customers to only pay for the premium TV they want to watch. Customers can click to sign up and can also click to cancel at anytime – it’s an interesting prospect and probably only the likes of Amazon could offer it out.

In case you don’t know already, Amazon Channels are available via the existing Prime Video app (I use it on my PS4) to watch anytime, anywhere through the Amazon Video app on smart TVs, iOs and Android mobile devices, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire tablets and games consoles at www.amazon.co.uk/channels.
