With a screenplay by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Lanham, and directed by Destin who also wrote and directed the excellent Short Term 12, his new film The Glass Castle chronicles the lives of an unusual, eccentric and unique family who make the best of what little they have, and it’s all based on the best-selling real-life memoir of Jeannette Walls.
Returning to work with Cretton for a second time is Brie Larson alongside Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts and what looks like an incredible young cast. Here’s an official synopsis and then the first UK trailer and poster:
A young girl comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads with a mother who’s an eccentric artist and an alcoholic father who would stir the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.
