We’ve got all the details you need for the rather impressive The Crown: Season One, the BAFTA TV and Golden Globe award winning series, that’s soon being released on Blu-ray, DVD and Platinum Edition Blu-ray on October 16th, 2017.
If you’ve not managed to watch it yet, it was created by two-time Academy Award nominee Peter Morgan and the first season covers the period from Queen Elizabeth II’s marriage to the Duke Of Edinburgh through to the disintegration of Princess Margaret’s engagement to Peter Townsend, and charts how a princess became Head of State. The Crown stars the excellent Claire Foy (Little Dorrit, Wolf Hall), whose portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in the series won her a Golden Globe Award, Mr Matt Smith as the Duke of Edinburgh, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret, Jared Harris as King George VI, and the legendary John Lithgow as Winston Churchill, the series takes a sumptuous look at the early part of the Queen’s reign and the circumstances that lead to it.
