I love a mysterious space-set adventure and while director James Gray has hooked up with the mighty Brad Pitt for Ad Astra, a seemingly secretive space thriller, there’s an underlying feeling that it might not be as clever as it likes to think it is. That being said, this IS just the trailer (and first poster above) and so we may be being pulled in various directions when it comes to the final story despite another feeling that it might be a bit of a Christopher Nolan copy…
But before any speculation, and I’ve also felt a little Gravity and Solaris, I’d definitely say check it out below and here’s your official synopsis:
Astronaut Roy McBride (Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones) and to unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.
