Now here’s a new 3-part adaptation of cult classic The War of the Worlds that I didn’t see coming but I love the idea, and the cast, already!

Based on H.G. Wells iconic sci-fi, it’s been adapted by Peter Harness and is set to star Eleanor Tomlinson, Rafe Spall, Robert Carlyle and Rupert Graves. Directed by Craig Viveiros, this story is one that’s world-renowned in terms of inspiration and it’s the original Alien invasions. In fact, if you’ve never heard, back in 1938 Orson Wells version of the story on the radio caused minor panic in the States, as some mistook it for a real Martian invasion. While stories of major panic are often talked about it, the real story is that most were generally disturbed by the play as it was very much out of the ordinary at the time.

But, moving back to 2019, The War of the Worlds comes to BBC One this Autumn and we’ll bring all the latest as we hear it!
