This is pretty impressive, especially in current times! The excellent Goose Island craft beer are set to bring us all some excitement this summer of some iconic live acts, and they start their first-ever up close and personal show from one of the best UK live venues with Goose Island Presents – Supergrass on 21st August!
Coming to us in 360º and VR, this is a unique, real-time perspective of the band’s headline set – direct to your home. The show will not be archived or recorded to view at a later stage, so must be experienced in the moment. Supergrass will be performing at Manchester’s Band On The Wall, playing the festival headline set they wanted to perform for thousands of fans this summer, and it’s for two great charities. All ticket proceeds will be split equally between music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity and suicide prevention charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – the bands chosen charity.
And trust me, I was lucky enough to catch the boys just before lockdown at Alexandra Palace and they were phenomenal. Of course, being creators of some of the most defining tracks of the last 20 years means they’ve got one hell of a set-list on the way, here’s what they had to say:
“After having to postpone many of our live shows this year, we’re so happy to team up with Goose Island to play a really intimate show in Manchester to raise money for two charities close to our hearts Nordoff Robbins and CALM. We love playing live and can’t wait to share this intimate show with people virtually too. Grassroots venues in Manchester and everywhere else are battling to survive right now and they’re desperate to be able to access the money the government has promised to help them. It’s really important that the process is fast tracked now so that no more venues have to close for good and they can fully open up for bands and fans as soon as it’s safe.”
From just £2 a ticket via www.GooseIslandPresents.com, 350 lucky winners will also win a free customised VR headset and a four pack of Goose Island beer, delivered straight to their door in time for the show. There are also five chances to win a ‘virtual meet-and-greet’ with Supergrass via an online hangout on the afternoon of the show.
Established in Chicago 1988, Goose Island are known for its award-winning, expertly crafted beers. Flagship brews include Goose IPA and Midway Session IPA. The brewery is also well known for its barrel aging program boasting the Sour Sisters range and the iconic Bourbon County Stout. This summer will see the launch of a crisp, refreshing Helles lager, Golden Goose.
