Now this is an absolutely compelling trailer with just enough teaser-moments without over revealing, I’m hoping, but there is a downside, it’s not out until Christmas 2021..!?

Directed by Florian Zeller, who co-writes with Christopher Hampton, The Father stars Anthony Hopkins in the eponymous role of an elderly, yet independent man who, as he ages, refuses all assistance from his daughter Anne (Olivia Colman). Yet, such help has become essential following Anne’s decision to move to Paris with her partner, but as her father tries to make sense of his changing circumstances, he begins to doubt his own fabric of his reality…
Also co-starring Rufus Sewell, Imogen Poots, Mark Gatiss and Olivia Williams, this is a superb trailer but my one tip to Lionsgate? The poster is really off the money, it makes it look a little bit ‘quirky comedy’ (see below) and if this trailer is any thing to go by? Deserves something much more creative! But, to end on a positive, watch now:
The Father comes to cinemas late 2021
