What’s not to love? Starring Olivia Cooke, Ben Hardy, Daryl McCormack, Colm Meaney, Dylan Moran, Chris Walley and Alec Baldwin, this first trailer for Pixie is very sharp indeed.
For me, there’s not nearly enough Irish film comedy out in the mainstream but the likes of Extra Ordinary, Grabbers, The Guard and even Animals (location and on the comedy-drama side), give you a little taster of the fine country, let alone a whole host of tremendous dramas over the years.
The eponymous Pixie is played by Olivia Cooke, she’s a lady with a mission and wants to avenge her mother’s death by masterminding a heist, but her plans go awry and she finds herself on the run with two young men (Hardy, McCormack) who are way out of their depth, and being chased across the Wild Irish countryside by gangsters… well, gangster priests! Directed by Barnaby Thompson, with the screenplay by Preston Thompson, watch the trailer now!
