Announced over on Marvel Studios’s Twitter feed this week, in a wonderful way, see the Tweet just below, I think we’re all excited to see what the team have done this time Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a new saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Now, I’ll be honest because I’m not that clued up on Shang-Chi, but I do know that trailer has definitely caused excitement across the Globe, and in our household. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who you’ll know for the likes of Short Term 12, The Glass Castle and Just Mercy (all superb), they’ve brought together a host of top talent that includes stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, alongside the blinking classy Awkwafina, the legendary Tony Leung, plus Michelle Yeoh, Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and the highly entertaining Ronny Chieng.
The quick premise is “When Shang-Chi is drawn into the clandestine Ten Rings organization, he is forced to confront the past he thought he left behind…” and we’ve seen bits of this organisation within the MCU already, so it’s good that things keep clicking together, watch the teaser now:
