Resident Evil goes back to 1996, as a game it first released on Playstation, and I remember it clearly! While the gameplay and scale of the world has undoubtedly increased, the name has also spawned six films from the Paul W. S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich combo but, interestingly, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City does look like a refreshing new take, when it arrives in cinemas on 3 December.
Wasting no time in hitting the nostalgia pipe, we return to the origins of Resident Evil, as fan and filmmaker/Director Johannes Roberts brings it, ah hem, to life for a whole generation. Once a home of the pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town and wasteland, with evil lurking just below the surface, and then it begins to fester outwards…
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City stars Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, Tom Hopper as Albert Wesker and Avan Jogia as Leon S. Kennedy, with Donal Logue and Neal McDonough also co-starring!
