Six films to spark a cinematic adventure in the States!

With the 94th Academy Awards ever closer, and taking place on 27 March, we thought it was a great time to celebrate six films to spark a wanderlust to the U.S., leading with Montana-story-based The Power Of The Dogwhich has accumulated a dozen Oscar nominations for this year’s Best Picture award!

The Power of the Dog (2021), Montana 

The Power of the Dog has accumulated a dozen Oscar nominations for this year’s Academy Awards including Best Picture. Whilst the film has a stellar line up when it comes to talent, including the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, many would agree that the dark western owes its success to the associated Montana outback, for which the story is set (even if actually filmed elsewhere!). Top Gun: Maverick, California (27 May, 2022)

After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is making a return to the big screen in Top Gun: Maverick. Filming took place at the military base, Naval Air Station, in Lemoore and San Diego and flight deck operations scenes were filmed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.
