The trailer for Tim Burton’s Wednesday Addams series, starring Jenna Ortega, is here!

While for me, and many others, it’ll be difficult to initially shake the pure brilliance of Christina Ricca as Wednesday, let alone the rest of that bang-on cast, in the 1991 The Addams Family, this fresh and twisted trailer for Wednesday – starring Jenna Ortega as the title character – looks dark and fun, that’s for sure!

Coming this Autumn, and hopefully on a Wednesday, it’s going to be an 8-episode sleuthing series, that charts Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Where she tries to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

Ortega recently had a stellar role in the new Scream, and she’s got big boots to fill but this is promising, if a little shiny around the edges. Alongside her, there’s a killer cast that includes Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems, plus Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Riki Lindhome (Dr. Valerie Kinbott), with Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill) – oh yes!

Wednesday arrives this Autumn, the showrunners and writers are Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, with Tim Burton Directing and Exec Producing.
