Based on the Book by Miriam Toews, Women Talking is written and directed by the excellent Sarah Polley, with a very strong cast that includes Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Judith Ivey, and Frances McDormand, plus Ben Whishaw.
Taking us back to 2010, we follow the story of a group of women from an isolated religious community grapple with reconciling their reality with their faith after a series of sexual assaults. Toews original novel is loosely based on the real-life story of the women of the ultraconservative Mennonite community in Bolivia, and the men who committed the heinous crimes.
