I’ll be honest, I can find some of the ‘child missing’ narratives out there somewhat troublesome, when making a conscious story choice to play on raw emotion, but Virginia Gilbert’s Reawakening appears to be something that’s not quite what you expect.

With a great key cast that includes Jared Harris, Juliet Stevenson and Erin Doherty, this trailer promises to offer a ‘psychologically piercing‘ insight for Gilbert’s second feature, which follows John (Harris) and Mary (Stevenson), who have lived with the grief and uncertainty of 10 years, after their 14-year-old daughter disappeared.
But when Clare (Doherty) returns, now 24-years old, Mary is overjoyed but John begins to question whether she is their daughter, and from this old tensions and -probable- secrets may well begin to float to the surface…
