I know the love for Wicked is huge, heck I’ve even seen the London show, but until this point, I haven’t been that enamored with what’s been released but… this trailer definitely got its hook in me, it feels more rounded with a clear indication of the story, for those less aware, and in an emotive way.
For those less versed, Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz, and stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a young woman misunderstood because of her unusual green skin, and who has yet to discover her true power, alongside Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman, gilded by privilege and ambition, who has yet to discover her true heart….

When the students meet at Shiz University, in the fantastical Land of Oz, they form an unlikely but profound friendship. And then, following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths…
Directed by Jon M.Chu, it’s written by Winnie Holzman, based on the musical Wicked, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, via the novel by Gregory Maguire, the film also stars Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James and Keala Settle.
