After already confirming the mighty The National, a personal favourite since 2007, and two stunning bands in the shape of Future Islands and Warpaint for the Saturday night at the All Points East festival over the weekend of 1-3 June 2018, organisers have now announced the glorious Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will play a UK exclusive gig on Sunday 3 June, alongside very, very special guests Patti Smith and her band, plus St. Vincent, and Courtney Barnett.
All hosted at East London’s Victoria Park, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are rightly considered one of the finest live-acts on the scene right and their recent sold-out headlining slots has proved their worth. I’d assume they’d be performing a host of classics, a career that goes back some 34 years as well, plus songs from their sixteenth studio album Skeleton Tree.
That’s not all for the Sunday either because supporting will the legendary, iconic Patti Smith, an undoubted influence on many – including Sonic Youth, R.E.M. (I miss them) and even Madonna – who’ll bring her band, style and impact to the stage in June 2018. Alongside the top top, there’s also the highly regarded St. Vincent (Annie Clark’s stage name) and Aussie songwriter Courtney Barnett. Here’s a little more official info on the All Points East Festival as a whole, in which sure to be one hell of an impressive weekend and line-up across two different dates:
All Points East is a new ten-day event which encompasses a diverse three-day music festival including headliners LCD Soundsystem, The xx and Bjork followed by a 4-day community-focused midweek programme of comedy, food, outdoor cinema and more to reflect the vibrancy of the park’s surrounding area.
Friday night is still to be announced, American alternative rockers The National play the Saturday alongside The War On Drugs, Future Islands, Warpaint, and The Districts.
Tickets for both are on sale now: www.allpointseastfestival.com and more announcements to come!
