Very interesting! Amazon Prime Video have shared the news that they’ve picked up the global rights to Truth Seekers, the new original comedy-horror series from Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and UK based production company Stolen Picture.
This 8-part series stars Frost as Gus and Pegg as Dave, and it’s about a part-time team of paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the UK. However, as they stake out haunted churches, bunkers and abandoned, the supernatural experiences grow more frequent, more terrifying and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a conspiracy that could bring about Armageddon for the entire human race.
So this sounds like a little bit Ghostbusters, a touch of Gaiman/Pratchett lovin’ and some Detectorists vibe, this will hopefully find their expected mash-up of comedy and horror, in a fun way! Pegg had this to say:
“Nick and I are delighted that Truth Seekers has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special.”
Mr Nick Frost added:
“Simon, Miles and I, and everyone at Stolen Picture, are incredibly happy to be making Truth Seekers with our new partners, Amazon Prime Video. It’s been nothing but a joyride in seeing this mad tale of paranormal conspiracy unfold in all its understated brilliance.
Truth Seekers is co-written by Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Nat Saunders and James Serafinowicz who Executive Produce alongside Miles Ketley and Jim Field Smith who also serves as Director.
It’s coming to Prime Video in 2020!
