Head over to our Downton Abbey: A New Era review by clicking here!
With many things delayed, it’s not that big a surprise that Downton Abbey: A New Era has been pushed back a little bit to 29 April, but today we’ve got an all-new trailer and that fresh poster released yesterday!
In truth, I remain an unexpectedly converted Downton Abbey fan, which comes from recently watching the entire series from start to finish for the first time, and the excellent 2019 film, so I’m very much looking forward to Downton Abbey: A New Era, and it looks like the budget is high! Check out the new trailer now, and poster, just below!
With the original, principal cast returning for the second film, in addition to newcomers Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, Dominic West, and Jonathan Zaccaï, the trailer is sweeping us off to the sunshine and the past lives of Lady Violet (Maggie Smith).
As always, it looks like a lot of Downton fun, here’s the first trailer released last last year:
The screenplay is written by Downton creator and Academy-Award winner Julian Fellowes, with Emmy and BAFTA Award-winning Gareth Neame and Emmy Award-winning Liz Trubridge producing with Fellowes. BAFTA and Emmy nominated Simon Curtis (My Week with Marilyn) is directing, and we cannot wait to see the return of Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Lesley Nicol, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton, and Penelope Wilton.
