War Child are a charity I’ve been aware of for nearly 30 years now, and this new auction is a great way to raise money for a tremendous cause, and also possibly pick up some genuinely unique items or experiences.

War Child’s Spring Clean (live and you can view it here!) is no ordinary auction, while it’s been running since 6th May, you’ve still got time to get involved as it closes on 27th May, and this is a true treasure hunt through the wardrobes, studios and archives of some of the world’s most celebrated names, all coming together to raise vital funds for children affected by conflict.

There’s an extraordinary line-up of prizes, film and TV lovers can get their hands on the infamous radish from Netflix’s Beef season 2, signed by the cast and donated by War Child Founding Global Ambassador, Carey Mulligan, there’s a personally dedicated The X-Files photo signed by War Child Global Ambassador, Gillian Anderson, and David Duchovny; you could win a private film screening and lunch with Simon Pegg; plus there’s a clapperboard from House of the Dragon signed by Olivia Cooke.

Music fans can bid on signed setlists from Robbie Williams, a poster from The 1975, a signed poster from Coldplay (from their recent small gigs in London), a 12” zoetrope vinyl of ‘War Is Over!’ by John Lennon paired with a picture book adaptation of the War is Over short film signed by Sean Lennon, and glass lettering from The Chemical Brothers’ Greatest Hits album, alongside a range of other incredible treasures.

Also available are two tickets to see Harry Styles at Wembleya signed Fantastic Four script from War Child Global Ambassador, Vanessa Kirby, and a lunch for two at The River Café with wine. And they’re not done yet, you can also try for the Isabelle Kristensen blazer worn by Alan Carr on RuPaul’s Drag Race, a The Devil Wears Prada 2 script signed by the cast, donated by Stanley Tucci as well as an Ottolenghi recipe of their choice, hand written by Yotam Ottolenghi himself along with a meal for four at ROVI, including desserts and a bottle of house wine.

War Child is a specialist charity dedicated to supporting children living through war. Right now, 1 in 5 children globally are growing up in conflict zones, the highest number since the second world war. From Gaza and Afghanistan to Sudan, Ukraine, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, hundreds of millions of children have been killed, injured or forced to flee their homes, and the need for support has never been more urgent.

Charlotte Nimmo, Fundraising Engagement Director at War Child UK, said:

“Spring Clean is back for 2026 and we have some wonderful prizes on offer once again, thanks to the generosity of the creative industries and the incredible people who have donated.

Right now, one in five children worldwide are growing affected by war, and public support has never mattered more. Every bid helps us support children whose lives have been torn apart by war.

But this isn’t just about raising money, it’s about bringing moments of joy and hope back into children’s lives. Whether it’s through our programmes helping vulnerable children heal from trauma, or giving supporters the chance to snap up a unique piece of culture they’ll treasure forever, Spring Clean proves that even in the darkest times, there’s still room for fun, creativity and hope.”

Gillian Anderson, War Child Global Ambassador, said

“War Child’s Spring Clean is back for the third time running and this year I’m reminiscing on my time working on X Files. I’ve donated a personally signed photo of myself and David Duchovny, which I hope fans of the series will support as part of War Child’s mission to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children around the world. All of the money raised from the auction and prize draws this year goes towards War Child’s staggeringly important work providing immediate aid, safe spaces, specialist psychological support and more to some of the world’s most vulnerable children that have been impacted by conflict. Thank you to everyone getting involved.”

War Child operates in 13 countries, with its teams working on the ground in some of the hardest to reach areas of the world. War Child’s work includes creating child-friendly spaces in refugee camps, setting up education classes for children who have fled war and no longer have access to school, providing families with life-saving essentials, and mental health support for children who have lived through the trauma of conflict, as well as campaigning to ensure the voices of the world’s most vulnerable children are heard.

The money raised for War Child helps keep children safe and support them in building a brighter future through specialist mental health services, first aid, food, education, shelter and more: https://www.warchild.org.uk/
