Having been a fan of Mike Flanagan’s work for some time, the news that he was adapting Stephen King‘s iconic debut novel was, indeed, an exciting prospect. As I’ve previously discussed, Brian De Palma‘s 1976 version, starring Sissy Spacek as the titular character, holds a lot of power, but there’s absolutely room for expansion in King’s vast, terrifying, saddening and quite vivid world of Carrie White – and this trailer builds on that hope.

Coming to Prime Video, this new 8-episode reinvention of King’s story will premiere exclusively on 7^th October. This big first full trailer offers a little more insight inside the town of Chamberlain in New England, offering further depth to those unforgettable characters while exploring what shapes Carrie (portrayed by Summer H. The show stars Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Totah as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle, with ensemble players confirmed as Michael Trucco, Crystal Balint, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Tim Bagley and Heather Graham.

Flangan has written, exec produced and directs episodes 1, 2, 7 and 8, with additional directors being Siegel, Axelle Carolyn, Kyra Sedgwick and Hiromi Kamata – The series is an Amazon MGM Studios production.
