Arrival comes to Blu-ray, Steelbook and DVD on 20 March – All the details…

ARRIVAL

Not only a truly captivating film but Amy Adams is also magnificent in Arrival (My 5-star review), so we’re very eager to view again and delighted to announce you can own it on Blu-ray, Blu-ray Steelbook and DVD on 20 March, with a Digital release on 6 March, from Entertainment One.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film follows linguist professor Louise Banks (Adams) who is brought in to decipher an alien language who have mysteriously touched down on Earth and are trying to communicate. Banks leads a team, that includes Jeremy Renner‘s Ian Donnelly, who slowly try to break down the barriers of language through various, and quite beautiful, methods while simultaneously opening up numerous questions about understanding, and misunderstanding.

The film is wonderfully crafted and exquisitely played out so the 8 Oscar nominations including Best Picture, Director and Cinematography aren’t a surprise, and when you add in 9 BAFTA nominations to honour Best Leading Actress, Picture and Director (plus more), I think they deserve all the plaudits and hopefully it’ll beat the bookies favourite La La Land to some of those.

I’m personally eager to hear about the process of creating and evolved the language and with the extras listed, it looks to be heading exactly to where I want to go….

Extras include over 70 mins of special features:

  • Xenolinguistics: Understanding Arrival
  • Acoustic Signatures: The Sound Design
  • Nonlinear Thinking: The Editorial Process
  • Principles of Time, Memory, & Language

Arrival comes to Blu-ray, Blu-ray Steelbook (exclusive to Zavvi) and DVD on 20th March 2017 and is available to pre-order now from Amazon. It will be available digitally from 6th March.
