With a story by Becky Johnson, and a screenplay by Johnston and Roberto Bentivegna, House of Gucci is looking like a true dramatic epic, so it’s got the right director as Ridley Scott is one who definitely knows how to sell a huge story.
He’s helped by a stellar cast that includes Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, and Jared Leto, the film is based on the book ‘The House Of Gucci‘ by Sara Gay Forden, and is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control….
This trailer is beautifully made, you’ll be hooked no matter what you think about the whole setup, trust me – Check this out for outstanding editing and scene setting – and head over here for all the character posters:
It looks like it’s firing on all cylinders and can’t wait to see it. I like Adam Driver when he goes serious. My only complaint about the trailer is that godawful Debbie Harry song playing. They couldn’t have found something better?

It’s all very serious and intense, but love it for that!
The use of a ‘modern’ song is a Universal Pictures theme, they do it with every trailer. I think each film company has their own ‘thing’, but I can’t recall which is which – for example Warner Bros always use modern songs, and another always uses orchestral it’s quite subtle, but interesting!
