The mighty Supergrass, whose first album I Should Coco is one of the finest debut albums of the last 30 years, followed it up with 1997’s banger In It for The Money, and then 1999 saw the release of their eponymously-titled third album (Order the new version here!), which effortlessly merged their old and a newer sound, with that 70s edge ever-present, and was also recorded at the legendary Sawmills Studio in Cornwall – which is a beautifully unique place to record, and visit
Today, the band – that’s Gaz Coombes, Mick Quinn, Danny Goffey and Rob Coombes – and BMG have announced that third album is getting a 2CD + 2x1LP new release on 16 September! It’ll features a full remaster of the original tracks, sourced and re-produced by the band and their original long-standing record producer, John Cornfield. The X-Ray album, 2022, will offer up a black heavyweight vinyl and a neon orange vinyl. All original LP artwork has been resourced, recreated and repackaged.
Also released as a 2CD digipack, this one contains the remastered album plus studio out-takes, never before heard demos, B-sides, rare live tracks and exclusive 2022 remixes; two re-imagined singles by John Leckie and Mick Quinn, and two remixed deep cuts by Mick Quinn and John Cornfield. There’s also a revamped 20 page booklet featuring band photos, original single artwork and new sleeve notes by Charles Shaar Murray!
