Martin McDonagh has created a niche for himself over nearly 20 years now, after originally giving us the brilliantly dark In Bruges, back in 2008, before also offering up the super impressive Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) and The Banshees of Inisherin, more recently in 2022.

Two men sitting on a grassy hillside near large Moai statues against a blue sky with clouds.

Two men sitting in a vintage car, one with a striped suit and moustache, and the other with a red shirt and moustache, both looking pensive.

And now, 4 years later, we’ve got the new trailer for McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine, which is set just before the 1973 Chilean coup, where CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) are dispatched to Easter Island by their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi)… you just need to watch the trailer to see what to expect, and you know this will be chaos. Entertaining, dark comic chaos.

The film also stars Mariana Di Girolamo, Ailín Salas, Tom Waits, Parker Posey, have a gander below..
